Potluck Party Details

This is NOT a wedding, BUT it is the celebration of one!*  

*Gavin and Liz are getting married in a small ceremony in Fall, 2026, and the Potluck Party is celebrating that union with our larger community 

The really important details:

Date: April 18, 2027; 4pm - 8pm

Location: Club Tico, Fort Collins, Colorado

The intent: Share food. Dance. Play games. Hang out. 

We will have an RSVP to fill out closer to the event, stay tuned! 

Please, no gifts!

Attire

 Attire is West Coast business casual: just choose clothing comfortable enough to dance in!

Who's Invited

We have invited friends and family, including children. We will have a few small activities throughout for children, and the venue is in the middle of a park (and across the street from the play structure). 

Food

We're having a potluck! Food is incredibly important to us, specifically sharing food with others. So inevitably, we wanted to have that be part of our experience. Additionally, we love vegetarian food. So we are requesting that all dishes be vegetarian.

If you're willing, we'd love to have your recipe. A small memento from your kitchen to ours for us to make again and remember a great evening with friends and family. There will also be recipe cards at the event. 

We will have cards to label your dish with allergens that we know not everyone can eat (nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs): any of these are fine, we just want everyone to be aware what they're eating! 

If you are traveling into town, we are not expecting you to bring a dish!  

We will be bringing a sweet and a savory dish to share and will provide drinks. 

Other Festivities

We love a good story. We love to laugh. And we look forward to being in the hot seat. Join Toast em' and Roast em'! Aka we won't be doing traditional toasts: what we do want to hear from is you, our guests, about funny stories about, toasts, or roasts of Gavin, Liz, or both! We will have a time for this during the event. And if you don't like public speaking (or can't attend), feel free to reach out and we will have someone read it (or it can just be a private story to us!). 

*Please note: as noted, we did invite children. So please keep language appropriate.

The Background...

  It started off with a swipe (right), how did it end up like this?  Gavin and Liz met a few weeks after March 2020 on a dating app. Two Zoom meetings later and they arranged to meet at a park in late April (that, conveniently, they could both walk to as they lived only a few blocks from each other). Hours of chatting later, both parties were incredibly sun-burned but apparently that wasn't a deterrent to hanging out again. Gavin bought a house later that year, and when Liz graduated from grad school in spring of '21, they decided this person seemed cool enough that they should give it a shot and move in. Six and a half years after meeting, they decided to take hanging out to a new level with a series of ring exchanges.  Liz and Gavin will be tying the knot in Fall 2026 in a small ceremony in the mountains with family.
